Myth # 3: Janitors are illegal or undocumented workers
The news headlines have been filled with reports of the use illegal or undocumented workers in manual labor industries. Those caught in this illegal practice site the inability to recruit legal worker due to the perceived undesirability of the work. Or they might employ illegal or undocumented workers to avoid paying minimum wage or payroll taxes. While this may be true for some janitorial services, its not true for Quality Maintenance & Repair Service.
Truth: We are committed to maintaining a legal workforce. We voluntarily participate in E-Verify, a program through the Department of Homeland Security. The program allows employers to verify the work credentials of new hires. The identification information such as social security, driver licence or passport details are entered into the E-Verify database. The system verifies that the information is correct and gives an approval that the candidate is authorized to work in the United States. We also comply with all Federal and State minimum wage requirements, payroll and employment taxes.
